During their visit to Derventa, the President of the Republic of Srpska, Željka Cvijanović, and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska, Radovan Višković, pointed out that the Government had saved many companies in the Republic of Srpska with its interventions in the pandemic, including the company “Amika” in Derventa.
The President of the Republic of Srpska, who together with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska, Radovan Višković, paid a working visit to Derventa, emphasized that one of the needs of this city was also to expand the capacity of kindergartens, where the Office of the President would intervene.
The President of the Republic said that the republic authorities, together with the city leadership, would solve the issue of the Elementary School “Nikola Tesla”, damaged in the earthquake in 2020, which would be a project of great importance for 850 pupils attending the school.
“I am pleased that we have had the opportunity to get acquainted with some development plans of Derventa, but also the needs of this city, to which we would react as the republic institutions”, said the President of Srpska.
The President of the Republic added that the republic government strived to intervene towards all local communities through numerous projects, especially those related to the improvement of conditions in schools and kindergartens, for youth and sports associations.
“These are our priorities, but also every other good project, which is in the function of local development, is something that is supported by institutions of the Republic of Srpska. I am pleased that the Government and the Office of the President of the Republic can often join forces and support projects for the benefit of citizens”, said the President Cvijanović.
The President of the Republic of Srpska stated that it was equally important to renew the road infrastructure, build highways, and reconstruct the road network that connected the local communities.
According to the President of the Republic, the Government and the “Roads of Srpska” are engaged in the common goal for Srpska to have modern communications, the highest quality road infrastructure, which was necessary for citizens, tourists and the economy.
“Today, we also discussed how to make Derventa more open and accessible when it comes to the highway, which would mean a lot for the economy in this city”, added the President Cvijanović.
After visiting the company “Amika”, the President of the Republic of Srpska said that it was always a pleasure to see a positive business climate, and pointed out that Derventa was recognised by many foreign investors as a place where you could do good business.
“We are interested that these are people who have credible jobs, who can fulfill their obligations towards workers and the state. What makes Derventa special is its overall export potential, the potential it has precisely due to such a large number of economic entities here”, highlighted the President of Srpska.
The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović also visited the the company “Digital Elektronik”.
After today’s visit to Derventa and the company “Amika”, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska said that he was pleased with the fact that the intervention of the Government from April 2020 in some way saved the business of this company.
“In that period, the import and export of raw materials and products was blocked, and by paying salaries and contributions, we enabled this company to continue working at full capacity and to look for new workers today”, said the Prime Minister Višković.
The Prime Minister Radovan Višković emphasized that “Amika” employed workers from several local communities gravitating towards Derventa, and that this was an example of a successful business entity.
“The Italian investor is the 100% owner of the company and I am looking forward to talking about increasing production in the coming period. The company employs more than 600 workers, and provides salaries that are above the average in their industry”, said the Prime Minister Višković, who visited “Amika” together with the President of the Republic of Srpska, Željla Cvijanović.
During the visit to the company “Digital Electronik” from Derventa, which is engaged in production in the field of electronics and metal processing, and employs 180 workers, the Prime Minister Radovan Višković said that the owner of this company planned to further invest and develop production facilities and increase number of employees.
The Prime Minister Višković pointed out that “Digital Electronik” dealt with long-term finishing work for a well-known customer and worked in the most modern way with CNC machines that also had robotic welding.
“This businessman made a connection with his parent company in Austria in Salzburg and placed the production on the European market”, said the Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska, Radovan Višković, adding that the Director and the owner of “Digital Electronik”, Richard Auer, compared the area of BiH with China in the sense that it had a future for this type of production.
“It is certainly not difficult to recognize the reasons. You have a professional, high-quality and qualified workforce here, and here are the energy sources that are several times cheaper than in the EU or his home country”, said the Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska.
The Mayor of Derventa, Miodrag Simić, said that this city had good cooperation with the republic authorities, and expressed satisfaction that the President of the Republic, Željka Cvijanović, and the Prime Minister, Radovan Višković, paid a visit to Derventa today.
After talks with the officials of Srpska and a visit to the company “Amika”, Simić said that the value of exports realized in Derventa was 333 million KM, which was remarkable.
“There are 6,816 workers in Derventa, and there are 506 job seekers at the Employment Bureau. We have 191 companies and more than 700 business entities. Derventa also has the strongest concentration of foreign capital, which consists of 33 companies from Austria, Italy, China and other countries”, said Simić.
