The Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska Radovan Višković has met today, in Banja Luka, with the mission chief of the International Monetary Fund for BiH, Alina Ijanca, and the IMF Resident Representative for BiH, Andrew Jewell.


The economic situation in the Republic of Srpska and BiH in light of global macroeconomic trends and challenges in 2023, as well as the continuation of cooperation between the institutions of the Republic of Srpska and the Mission of the International Monetary Fund were discussed at the meeting.


The Prime Minister Višković informed the IMF delegation about the measures taken by the Government of the Republic of Srpska to support citizens in order to mitigate the impact of global inflationary trends and the further plans of the Government, and expressed his determination to continue talks on reaching a new arrangement with the IMF, but without measures that encroach on the constitutional position of the Republic of Srpska.


The situation in the banking sector, tax policy, as well as other current issues from the economic sphere were also discussed at the meeting.
