The President of the Republic of Srpska, Milorad Dodik, has attended today in Banja Luka, together with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Hungary, Péter Szijjártó, the distribution of the first contingent of agricultural machinery, equipment and tools purchased as part of the project to support farmers in the Republic of Srpska, financed by the Government of Hungary.

On this occasion, the President of the Republic of Srpska thanked Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Péter Szijjártó for their help in realizing the project of allocating agricultural mechanization in Srpska on favorable terms and announced a new round from August 1.

“It is one of the projects that are being implemented. Politicians are only those who leave behind results. This is an optimistic story that continues, from August 1 we are going again. People have seen that this works”, said the President of the Republic.

According to the President Dodik, this is a success that is visible throughout the Republic of Srpska.

“I invite all those interested to prepare for the second round of this project”, said the President of Srpska.

The President of the Republic stated that local farmers today received machinery that was made according to the highest world standards and which will improve agricultural production in Srpska.

“The importance is reflected in the quality of equipment and the quality of financial support. In some parts, our people will have to apply modern technology, and that means additional improvement”, said the President Dodik.

The President of Srpska emphasized that the agricultural sector is always full of challenges, because it is never possible to know what the year will be for agricultural production, and stated that this year is extremely difficult for agriculture in Srpska, but also in the region and the world.

“We have managed to animate a considerable number of agricultural producers and companies. Today, this is proof that we had confidence in this project, not only from a political standpoint, but above all agricultural producers and companies that wanted to use the benefits of this program”, said the President of the Republic.

The President Dodik pointed out that he believes this confirms the long-term partnership that Srpska and Hungary will have on a number of other projects, which he discussed with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán during his last visit to Banja Luka.

“This is a bilateral relationship between the governments of Hungary and Srpska and has nothing to do with EU funds”, concluded the President of Srpska.
