The members of the Presidency of BiH thanked the Republic of Austria for the overall assistance and support it had provided to Bosnia and Herzegovina so far at the bilateral and multilateral level. They pointed out that Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Austria were two friendly countries with no open issues.

The members of the Presidency of BiH emphasized that positions of Austrian leaders who supported the accelerated path of the Western Balkan countries, and thus Bosnia and Herzegovina, towards membership in the European Union, were a special encouragement for Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was said at the meeting that it was extremely important that EU enlargement remained high on the agenda despite other challenges facing the EU, noting that a clear European perspective was key to the security and stability of the entire Western Balkans region.

The Chancellor Nehammer said that Bosnia and Herzegovina and other countries of the Western Balkans should continue on the path of ensuring peace and stability in the region, in which the Republic of Austria would provide them with wholehearted assistance. He pointed out that the Republic of Austria was ready to be a bridge towards faster accession of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the EU. He expressed readiness, for him personally, but also for his country, to share experiences and help in mutual dialogue in solving internal problems.

The members of the Presidency of BiH emphasized the role of the Republic of Austria in the field of internal stability and security of BiH through the participation of its contingent in the EUFOR-ALTHEA Mission.

Extremely successful economic cooperation between the two countries was discussed at the meeting, and on that occasion it was pointed out that the Republic of Austria was one of the largest and most important trade partners, and particularly investment partners in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Gratitude was expressed to the Republic of Austria as evidently the largest investor in BiH, but also the belief that the economic cooperation would be further improved.

The Chancellor Nehammer praised the very good cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Austria in the fight against terrorism, organized crime and illegal migration. 

The conflict in Ukraine was also discussed at the meeting and how to mitigate its consequences for the economy and other spheres of life that were being felt in all European countries.      

The members of the Presidency of BiH congratulated the Chancellor Nehammer on his appointment to this position, expressing interest in successful cooperation with him.
