The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović has visited the National Theatre of the Republic of Srpska in Banja Luka today.

The President of the Republic of Srpska stated that the National Theatre was a national institution of great interest for the Republic of Srpska and pointed out that she was there to support the top actors and management of this significant institution.

“I am pleased with the ambitious plan as regards the program and activities of the National Theatre in this year, but also the interaction with the local level throughout Srpska”, said the President of the Republic.

The President of Srpska pointed out that she was happy with the fact that relations with the theatre from Belgrade had been intensified and that this would be seen through various events, manifestations and participation in festivals.

“It is essential that we learn from each other, but also that we internationalize our activities. People are dedicated to their work here. They work very seriously, showing their ability and their capacity. Our actors are engaged in various productions outside the Republic of Srpska, which gives us confirmation that they are great actors”, said the President Cvijanović.

The President of the Republic of Srpska expressed pleasure with the fact that this was becoming a place where more and more people were coming, and added that it was necessary to return schoolchildren to the theatre after two years of pandemic.

“I am also happy since the story about the philharmonic was finally coming to an end, since we had been dealing with it for a long time, we wanted to have a philharmonic, to find an adequate status form that would enrich the National Theatre”, said the President of the Republic.
