The Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska, Radovan Višković, has stated today that agriculture, energy and tourism were the most important directions of development in Trebinje and that all levels of government would support the development of the city.


After the meeting with the leadership of Trebinje, the Prime Minister Višković told reporters that the Government of Srpska would support the development of the Faculty of Agriculture in Trebinje.


He stated that the contractor for the rehabilitation of the Žegulja pass, on the road from Mostar to Trebinje, was selected, and pointed out that the issue of the road from Tjentište to Brod na Drini would be resolved soon, which was an investment of several tens of millions of KM.


“According to estimates, the partial rehabilitation of the road from Brod to Šćepan Polje to the connection with the bridge that is planned to be built across the Drina River and the part of 11 kilometers from the Drina River to Tjentište, is an investment of approximately 50 million KM. We will finance it from the budget and it will be done in the next three years”, said the Prime Minister Višković.


The Prime Minister added that the Government would also help the municipality of Bileća, which was in a difficult financial situation, emphasizing that every local community was equally important for the Government.


The Mayor of Trebinje, Mirko Ćurić, said that they expected the support of the Government this year for the continuation of the construction of the eastern bypass, stating that 16 million KM were missing for these purposes.


“It is planned to be realized in the next three years with the support of the Government of the Republic of Srpska”, said Ćurić, adding that the City Administration had sent a request for adapting the premises for the Faculty of Agriculture in this city, which required 150,000 KM, and that they were promised that it would be resolved.
