A meeting of delegations of the Republic of Srpska and the Government of Hungary, led by the Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, has been held in Banja Luka today.


The delegation of the Republic of Srpska consisted of: the President of the Republic Milorad Dodik, the Speaker of the National Assembly Nenad Stevandić, the Prime Minister Radovan Višković, the Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović, and ministers in the Government of the Republic of Srpska.


After the meeting, where further improvement of cooperation was discussed, the President of the Government of the Republic of Srpska Radovan Višković and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary Péter Szijjártó signed the Joint Declaration on Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Srpska and the Government of Hungary.


In the Joint Statement on Cooperation, the two sides express their mutual intention to strengthen mutual cooperation between institutions and economic entities of the Republic of Srpska and Hungary, based on mutual benefit, with the aim of improving economic, scientific-technological, educational, cultural and other cooperation.


The parties express their intention that, within their institutional competences and in accordance with the laws of BiH and the Republic of Srpska and Hungary, in full respect of the assumed international obligations and those binding on Hungary due to its membership in the European Union, to promote the implementation of initiatives of mutual interest, which is the goal of improving and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation in the following spheres: economy (energy, industry, small and medium-sized enterprises, agriculture, water management, tourism and other economic activities), science, technology, culture, education, youth, public administration and local self-government, health and other spheres.
