The Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska, Radovan Višković, has stated today in Foča, where the beginning of works on the construction of the energy system of the Bistrica Hydroelectric Power Plant was officially announced, that the Republic of Srpska should be recognized as an energy leader in this area in the coming period.
“We want that status, we want to go even faster in that development and to see that chance of the Republic of Srpska, precisely in clean, green, ecological energy.” This will make benefits for all citizens of the Republic of Srpska in the financial part, but it will also make a significant contribution to the preservation of the environment,”, said Prime Minister Višković.
The Prime Minister proposed to the management of the Bistrica Hydroelectric Power Plant to name the Bistrica B1, B2a and B3 facilities in the future after the greats Nikola Tesla, Mihajlo Pupin and Milutin Milanković.
“This will be our message that we also appreciate our people who did equally great work for Serbs before us wherever they lived,” said Prime Minister Višković.
The Prime Minister stated that his trip to China has been valorized here today, not only in the sense of construction, but that Srpska has such a powerful company as AVIK as a partner, stating that it is almost inconceivable for these conditions and areas that someone has half a million workers, and billions of turnover.
In his address, Prime Minister Višković reminded that the Republic of Srpska follows all EU directives, everything that the energy community asks of it, that today it has 60 percent of production from thermal power plants, so it must quickly change that percentage in favor of green energy from renewable sources.
“We in the Government have taken this more than seriously,” the Prime Minister pointed out and reminded of the decade-long Buk Bijela project, which he said was going well and would not deviate from the realization of that project.
He noted that they have recently certified the signatures of the highest officials of the Republic of Srpska with the notary, so that after the New Year, contracts would be signed with a Chinese bank and a Chinese contractor for the construction of the Dabar Hydroelectric Power Plant.
“It is a decade-long project of Herzegovina and this part of the Republic of Srpska,” said Prime Minister Višković, and reminded that agreements have already been signed, decisions have been made and strategic partners have been selected for the construction of solar and wind power plants, all that would make the Republic of Srpska recognized in the coming period as an energy leader in this area.
According to the Prime Minister, the Republic of Srpska, despite all the pressures it is exposed to every day, has its own path and chooses its partners.
The Prime Minister thanked China, stating that the company AVIK is 100% owned by the state and that it could not come here and work without the support of China.
“I am proud of that fact. I am proud of the fact that we could hear the anthem of the Republic of Srpska and the anthem of China here, in addition to these flags that are not a threat to anyone but are flags of development, prosperity of all who wish well to BiH,” said Prime Minister Višković.
He pointed out that neither China nor Srpska were a disruptive factor, nor an obstacle to the development of anyone in BiH and the region itself.
“We want to continue to develop and we have the right to choose partners on our path of development,” said Prime Minister Radovan Višković
The Prime Minister mentioned that there are other agreed projects with the company AVIK, apart from Bistrica, and they were related to Ugljevik and the municipality of Foča itself, and that in the coming days and months there would be moves towards that realization.
